Dreamweaver
I just thought I’d remind everybody that Adobe.com lets people download trial versions of their software - including dreamweaver.
The trial is a fully functioning version of the program, except it'll expire after 30 days. Conveniently just in time before our deadline for United Manufacturing.
You just have to create an account with Adobe - nothing too crazy there, your basic name and email address sort of questions, then you can install the program by going to adobe.com --> downloads-->trial downloads--> Adobe Dreamweaver (TRY).
(I wouldn't suggest downloading it if you arn't sure if your computer can handle it - it's quite a large program and can make your computer sluggish.)
You'll also see that on that same page there's trial downloads for photoshop and illustrator CS3. It's definitely worthwhile if you have alot of work to do with these programs, but can't spend half your life in the MacLab like some of us have been doing this semester. Of course, if you can't download the software, remember that the program is installed on all the computers on campus. I think it'll be helpful for people to at least open up the program and mess around with it to get a feel for how it works before our next class.
I'm taking this week to familiarize myself with dreamweaver this way, because I really haven’t had too much exposure to it in the past. Hopefully by next week some of us will be armed with at least a rudimentary knowledge of the program and we can get started on this new assignment as soon as possible.
Under this topic thread, feel free to post any links to sites that can help as an introduction to dreamweaver. My only suggestion is to do a bit of research to make sure it really is worth while for us, and not to just post links arbitrarily because that would just be a waste of time.

Dreamweaver Recaps
I'm not sure who has experience with Dreamweaver and who does not, but I think it would be helpful if we took turns recapping what Dr. Petroski teaches us in class regarding the program.
Personally, it is easier for me to follow the steps taught to us in class rather than use a tutorial online. Should we create a page dedicated to posting the notes we take in class?
I can set up a page from the main site, does anyone have good notes from last week that they can post?

Dreamweaver Recap
Jill, I thought your idea of a Dreamweaver recap is really good. So I posted my notes from last class about Dreamweaver. I also combined my notes from class with my books directions. I hope this helps.

Hey Eb
I'm not sure if you posted on the wiki or on here but I was thinking the same thing before Jill mentioned it and I wanted to know where you posted just so I don't wind up posting the same thing as you
